Privacy policy

Last updated 2 November 2026

In short: Bubblation doesn't collect any information about you or your child. There are no accounts, no adverts and no tracking. The app sends anonymous counts of how the game is played, such as which places are visited and which pages are found, to help make it better. Purchases are made through Apple, behind a grown-ups check. The microphone is only used on your device, and nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Who we are

Bubblation is made by James Fursedon in the United Kingdom. This policy covers the Bubblation app for iPhone and iPad.

Information we collect

Nothing that identifies you or your child. Bubblation has no sign-in and no accounts, and it doesn't ask for names, email addresses, ages, photos or locations. It contains no adverts and doesn't track anyone across apps or websites.

Anonymous usage counts

To see how the game is played and where it's too hard or too easy, the app sends anonymous events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in Germany. The events are about the game, not the player: for example "a page was found in the Snowy evening book", "the Fan was switched on" or "the app was opened".

Each event also carries general details that TelemetryDeck adds: the app version, the device model (such as iPhone 15), the iOS version, the language, the region and the time zone. To tell how many people play without knowing who they are, the app makes a random code the first time it opens. It isn't the device's own identifier, it isn't linked to a name, account or Apple ID, and TelemetryDeck scrambles it again before storing it. Deleting the app deletes the code.

The same anonymous events say when the grown-ups check and the Bubblation Plus page are opened, and whether a purchase was started, completed, cancelled or restored, and which one (yearly or for good). They never include payment details, Apple ID, name or price paid.

None of this is used for advertising, sold, or combined with information from anywhere else.

The microphone

The Mic toy lets children blow bubbles by blowing towards the device. It is off until someone switches it on in the menu, and iOS asks for permission the first time. While it's on, the app measures how loud the sound is, many times a second, and turns that into how hard to blow. The sound itself is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Switching the Mic toy off stops it listening.

What's kept on your device

The app saves its settings and progress on your device only: the bubble books, records such as the biggest bubble, the toys chosen and settings such as sound. This stays on the device, and in your device's own backups if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer. It isn't sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.

Children

Bubblation is made for children. It collects no personal information, so there's nothing for a child to share: the anonymous usage counts above are about the game, never about who is playing. Purchases, and the first request to use the microphone, are kept behind a grown-ups check: a times-table sum a young child can't answer.

Purchases

Bubblation is free to play in four places. Bubblation Plus opens the others, either as a yearly subscription or as a one-off purchase. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store: we never see payment details, names or Apple IDs, and Apple's privacy policy covers them. The app checks with the App Store, on the device, whether Plus has been bought or shared through Family Sharing. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple Account's settings.

Beta testing

If you test Bubblation through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share with us the feedback you choose to send, such as screenshots and comments, along with crash reports and basic device information like the model and iOS version. We use these only to fix problems and improve the app. Apple's TestFlight terms and privacy policy apply.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
